Dave Myers’ widow ‘tired and emotional’ in video message with Si King following public tribute

Dave Myers’ wife and Hairy Bikers co-star Si King shared a special message with the late star’s fans earlier today (Sunday, June 9).

The message came after thousands attended bike ride to honour the star – who died following a battle with cancer in February.

In a video message posted on the Hairy Bikers Instagram account today, Si and Dave‘s widow, Lil, can be seen standing alongside each other.

Just yesterday, thousands of bikers travelled from Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, Dave’s hometown, to Land’s End in honour of the late star.

“How you feeling?” Si asked Lil at the top of the video.

“Very tired and emotional,” she replied. “Yesterday we had…it was an amazing day,” she then continued.

“Overwhelming,” an emotional Si then added.

Lil then went on to say that they were “crying our eyes out” being greeted by fans along the ride.

Si then went on to reveal that there were over 46,000 motorcycles taking part in the ride.

“Absolutely overwhelming, thank you so very much,” he then went on to say. “We’re lost for words, really.”

Lil then thanked fans, before adding “let’s have another Dave Day”.

“I think every year should have a Dave Day from now on,” one fan commented.

“Amazing turnout for a wonderful man. I think you can safely say that this whole beautiful country loved Dave. He is us,” another said.

“You hairy bikers are a true national treasure dont think you realise we love you so very dearly, were proud of you,” a third wrote.

“How about an INTERNATIONAL DAVE DAY? Put some fund raising around it. Make it a worldwide event. I’d ride for Dave,” another fan gushed.

Earlier this month, Dave’s widow sat down on Lorraine to discuss living without the star following his passing.

“Everybody who loses somebody in their lives misses them. But there’s a different layer to it because if I turn on the TV, he might be on,” she said.

“His energy is everywhere and it just transpires and rolls on into this beautiful thing,” she then added.
